Very popular with the locals but with the high ceiling even it was very busy when we went, it was not too noisy.
Couldn't fault the service or the food. This is a contemporary bar/eatery within a stones throw from Sud Banhof station. It has ample outdoor space for dinning and is equally complimented by the facilities inside. I have stopped at Depot 1899 for lunch and left neither impressed nor satisfied. Their set of German tapas is far from meeting the expectations. The service is slower than average and the staff is not very patient either.

Had I reviewed this place immediately after I stopped for lunch with my children it would have revived a 5/5. The service and surrounding on that occasion were impeccable and the food that followed lived up to expectations. I had a warm cous cous salad and my children both had the more child friendly (age 6&5) chicken nuggets and chips (from the children's menu).
Frankfurter Pfanne consists of sausage , bacon, sauerkraut, pan fried potatoes. There was an delicious sauce strategically poured over the Pfanne, just enough to add another flavor dimension. I will definitely visit Depot 1899 again when I am in Frankfurt. Oh yeah, the waiter recommended the house beer, it did not disappoint and goes perfectly with this meal.

Their wine list is the better part in their menu. If you choose to try this place, don't expect much. I ordered the Frankfurter Pfanne which was one of the lunch special of the day. The meal description didn't do it any justice.
The food was divine, the service was excellent, the setting was awesome and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a very good evening. This restaurant is situated in a converted old tram depot, with the decor themed around it's history. The food is good German fare, nothing fancy but large portions.
